McLoone Launches Campaign for La Crosse Mayor

Businesswoman, realtor and community leader Ellie McLoone emphasizes sensible priorities and responsible stewardship of tax dollars

Ellie McLoone kicked off her bid for La Crosse mayor on Monday. The local realtor and community leader emphasized that her private sector experience with a prominent local real estate firm, over 25 years of experience in marketing, and 8 years as a small business owner will bring a new emphasis on common sense problem solving to City Hall.

She is also a leader with the La Crosse Area Realtor Association and has been a dedicated member of civic organizations including IrishFest, the Heritage Preservation Commission and Bluffside Neighborhood Association, experiences that keep her in touch with the priorities of La Crosse taxpayers and its diverse citizenry.

“As a realtor with lifelong roots in La Crosse, I see our community from every angle. Every day, I am reminded of why I love our beautiful city and region. I also see the tremendous untapped potential to make La Crosse the unrivaled destination in Wisconsin for everyone looking for a high quality of life,” McLoone said

“That will take the right kind of leadership. I will emphasize sensible policies and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars so our beautiful city can better attract young families and businesses and make it possible for our senior citizens to stay in their homes. Meanwhile, the current leadership is out of touch with most residents by pursuing a political wish list and allowing significant problems to linger and worsen. As mayor, I will focus on quality of life solutions and fight for lower property taxes.

“That is why I am excited to begin my campaign for Mayor of La Crosse—to roll up my sleeves to address the challenges our great city faces and take advantage of all the opportunities we have to make La Crosse an even more special place to call home, now and long into the future,” McLoone said.

McLoone will begin circulating her nomination papers in December and encourages all eligible La Crosse residents to vote in next spring’s nonpartisan elections:

  • Primary: February 18th, 2025
  • General: April 1st, 2025
